How It Works

Three steps.
Ten minutes.
Permanent peace of mind.

01

Connect

Download the desktop app. Log into the accounts you want protected. Select what gets deleted — specific folders, email labels, entire accounts, or everything. Setup takes 10 minutes.

02

Check In

A simple app on your phone shows a countdown timer. Tap it once a day — or once a week — to prove you're still here. One tap. One second. Timer resets.

03

Disappear

If you ever stop tapping — because you can't — the app silently erases everything you flagged. Your dating profiles. Your DMs. Your photos. Your browser history. Gone. Your secrets die with you.

Check-In App

What would your family find if you died tomorrow?

Everyone has something they want to keep secret. A conversation. A photo. A search. An app. Something that's nobody's business but yours. Delete After I Die makes sure it stays that way.

FAQ

Questions you're
already thinking.

Is this for real?
Absolutely. 7,500 Americans die every day — most of them with phones full of things their families will find. Search history going back years. Dating profiles still active. Instagram DMs still readable. AI chat conversations they thought were private. Browser history documenting every private thought they've had. Every single one of those people thought they had more time. You Still Do. Delete After I Die is the only tool that combines an inactivity trigger with automated deletion across your accounts — so when you stop checking in, everything you've flagged disappears automatically.
How does it work?
Download the desktop app on your Mac or Windows computer. Log into the accounts you want protected — Gmail, your dating apps, your browser, whatever you choose. Set your check-in timer. Then install the check-in app on your phone.

Once a day — or once a week, or whatever interval you set — you tap the app to prove you're still here. One tap. One second. Timer resets.

If you ever stop tapping — because you can't — the desktop app quietly logs into your accounts and deletes everything you configured. No one else has to do anything. No instructions to leave behind. It handles itself.

Your computer needs to be on and connected to the internet for deletion to run. We recommend keeping it plugged in and set to never sleep.
What happens if I accidentally miss a check-in?
Nothing happens immediately. The app sends escalating notifications — push, email, and SMS — at 75%, 50%, 25%, and 10% of your timer remaining. After your timer expires there's a configurable grace period (we recommend 2 hours) before anything starts. During that grace period a 60-second visible abort countdown runs on your desktop before any deletion begins. You have multiple chances to stop it.
Is my data safe? Who can see my accounts?
Nobody but you. Your passwords and login sessions are stored on your machine, encrypted by your operating system's built-in security — macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. Our servers store exactly one thing: the timestamp of your last check-in. We never see your credentials. We never access your accounts. Everything runs locally on your desktop. We literally cannot access your data even if we wanted to.
What if the app fails to delete something?
We run daily automated tests against every supported platform to catch issues before they affect you. When a platform changes their interface, we push a script update that applies instantly — no app update needed on your end. That said, no software is perfect. Platforms can change overnight, block automation, or behave unexpectedly.
What about my phone? Can it delete iPhone apps?
The deletion engine runs from your desktop computer. It reaches your online accounts (Gmail, Instagram, dating apps, etc.) through your web browser sessions. Some content that exists only on your physical phone — like iMessage texts or your camera roll — is out of reach for any software. We'll show you how to organize your digital life so the important stuff is in places we can protect.
What's a "Founding Member"?
The first 300 customers get lifetime access for a one-time payment of $129. After that, the product moves to annual pricing ($99/year). Founding members keep lifetime access to all v1 features and maintenance updates. New platforms added later may be part of a premium tier.
What if my computer is off?
The deletion engine runs from your desktop, so your computer needs to be powered on and connected to the internet when your timer expires. We recommend keeping it plugged in and set to never sleep. DAID launches automatically on startup so it's always running in the background. If your computer is off when the timer expires, deletion will run the next time it powers on and connects.
What's the refund policy?
14-day satisfaction guarantee. If the product doesn't work as described on a supported platform within 14 days of purchase, contact us for a full refund. Full details at deleteafteridie.com/refunds.
Why I Built This
Brad Yeager, founder of Delete After I Die

Brad Yeager

San Diego, CA

I'm not a software engineer. I'm a personal trainer in San Diego who had a conversation I couldn't stop thinking about.

A client told me she went through her husband's phone a few days before his funeral, just to find a photo to share at the memorial. What she found didn't just break her heart — it rewrote every memory she had of him. She looked at me and said: "I found everything. And now I have to figure out how to grieve someone I'm not sure I actually knew."

I built Delete After I Die because I believe your digital life deserves the same privacy as your physical one.

"They're Going to Go Through Everything."
